Christmas Day

Buggy's 2nd Christmas.

Despite going to bed at 10pm, she still woke up between 5:30am and 6am :::sigh:::
We hit 8am mass, which was less crowded than expected (shockingly). Then ran to Del Taco for a breakfast burrito (a possible new tradition?)

She really enjoyed this VTech ladybug that she can pull that plays all sorts of music, lights, and noises. (Thank you auntie Dawn!)

Christmas Eve

Drove out to my parents house before Noon. Had lunch at my favorite Mexican place (Casa Trejo), then did presents. Buggy made out like a bandit.

with her grandparents in front of the tree. At this point it was like 3pm and Little Miss Bug had NOT had a nap. Her patience for anything was pretty non-existent.

We left around 3:45pm and got home by 5pm. Had dinner, and ran off to Dana's parents for Christmas Eve with his family at 8pm. Buggy had a really long day. Mommy also had a really long day - hence why there is no pictures of the evening. (Hoping to get copies of the ones taken on Delayne's camera).

daycare morning

Normally, taking pictures at daycare is a major no-no (something to do with having pics with other kids in them, and posting them who-knows-where). But.... since we are the only person dropping off in her room that early in the morning lately - I got away with it. :)

I brought my little camera in because I really wanted to capture her curls that were out-of-control on the sides of her head this morning.

She LOVES to go over to the heater when it's blowing and stand in front of the warm air as it blows. (blurry because I took this zoomed in from across the room)

Look at that hair! Cracks me up. Being that it's the last day of Daycare before the holidays, she's wearing her "Partridge in a Pear Tree" shirt (with what I call her "Fruit-Stripe Gum" pants)

Update on baby #2: at 29.5 weeks and measuring a week ahead. She was head-down 2 weeks ago, but is back to breech now. During yesterday's ultrasound her feet we planted firmly on my bladder (oh joy!). All looks good!

Doggy

Last Sunday, Buggy got to pet a big doggy for the first time ever (after church). She was hesitant at first, but then decided it was okay as long as she steered clear of the dog's head. The dog's name is Lisa.

words only her mother could love

this morning after finishing up 9 oz. of milk, Miss Bug wanted a banana. I sit on the couch holding the banana, watching whatever it was that I recorded last night, and Bug plays around the coffee table taking bites as she pleases. After a bit she slowed down, so I asked her if she wanted a bite. She looked at me and said Poo Poo. Awwwwwwwww..... first time she's communicated what has occured in her diaper. So I said "Do you have a poopy? Do you need a clean diapy" and she nodded yes and headed toward the stairs to go get changed.

I'm probably the ONLY person excited about this.

I did it again

Not sure why I find this so amusing. Dressed in the the same outfit she wore for her 5 month pictures LAST December. Still fits... sort of. Size 6-9. The arms now are more of a 3/4 length sleeve, and the legs we a bit on the side of "floods". hee hee.

This outfit is now getting retired until new baby can get some use out of it. I'll miss it for a bit.

** Disclaimer: You wont be seeing me do this next month with her dress from her 6mo. pictures that were taken in January. That was a 3-6 and the last time we wore that red dress (also her xmas photo dress last year) was on 4th of July to church. Officially too small now.

Little Miss Smarty Pants

This morning while dropping off Bug at daycare, Miss Laurie was telling me all about how yesterday in the toddler room the teachers were asking one of the little boys: "Where is Shelby? Where is Olivia?" etc... about all the different children in the class. The boy wasn't cooperating and wasn't answering (he's several months older than Bug). Well, they looked over to see Bug answering and correctly pointing out each child they named. She can even tell the twins apart.

Awwwww.

This partly makes up for her defiant behavior of the day before when at naptime she absolutely would not stay on her cot. Miss Laurie would put her back down, and as soon as she stepped away Bug was right back on her feet again. Over and over. Miss Laurie had to move Bug's cot over to next to where she was working prepping crafts for later.

(and yes, she has a sparkly metallic, fur-lined Gymboree coat. I got it last year on after Christmas sales for around $14 (down from the orig. $42)

pneumonia and croup

we ended up in the ER early Saturday morning (1am). Bug's minor cough had turned really nasty. Turns out she has croup, a mild case of pneumonia, and an ear infection.

(really, she ended up playing with that blue hose a lot. Sticking fingers down it. Holding it up to her face on her own, etc... She was miserable a lot when being examined by the medical professionals, but the breathing treatment wasn't nearly as traumatic as that last pic makes it look)

So this mama decided to take some picures after church. The 1st one is my newest favorite (for now at least).

Can I just say I love the clothes the fit for this long!

In other news: Sydney got a new word on Sunday. "Cracker". Although she says it: Caca. Also, her sister is right on track and measuring in at 1 pound 13 ounces as of yesterday. 13+ weeks to go (crap! Is that all? :::hyperventilates:::)

Bit

She got bit on her arm by another child on Tuesday morning. This is a pic from bathtime Tuesday night (so about 10 hours later):

and just had to throw this in for cuteness. Bathtime Buggy. And yes, I cropped it quite a bit. I do love her enthusiastic smile and the wet strand of hair hanging all the way down her nose.

Tomorrow we may work on trying to take pics for our holiday cards. Her outfits arrived this week and I love them!

Bug has decided that it's super fun to crawl across the corner of the coffee table and climb into her old infant carseat (that we never packed away, because let's face it, we'll be needing it again soon)
