and for those that don't remember the dress: here is Miss Sydney wearing it in February 2011 (just a few days before Annabelle's arrival into this world). It used to have a sheer layer with red flowers over the skirt, but that got ripped in 2 places the one time Bug wore it. It spent the better part of a year at the bottom of the hamper until I finally decided to just rip the sheer layer off entirely and salvage the dress so Annabelle could wear it.

first meal (way late)
Talking with Christine (waves to Christine) on the phone the other night, made me realize I never put up these pics of our "first meal" in the new home.
This was the first weekend (02/18/12) after we got the keys. The home had no electicity or water (well, not turned on yet). We went over there to start cleaning. D brought a generator so I could vacuum everything. I picked up food on the way over. I little Del Taco lunch (it was on the way). Here's the fam, minus me who's taking the picture, having a little picnic on a sheet on the dining room floor.
closer up shot

here is Bug pushing a lawn mower toy she found abandoned in the backyard. They also left behind that porch swing you can see a bit of on the left side of the picture. We're planning on rehab-ing it with some Rustoleum paint and a new seat cushion. Why not, right? A nice place for Nana to sit and do her morning prayer when she's over.

I was totally kidding myself that Annabelle would stay and play nicely on the clean sheet (as opposed to the dirty floor). She ended up following me from room to room as I vacuumed. For the record, I went in the next Wednesday after the electric had been turned on and steamed cleaned every inch of the carpeted areas.

catching up.
Can't believe it's been 2 full weeks since I last updated. So much has been going on.
First, Friday 2/24 (day after I last posted on ABelle's bday) she got a little ill at daycare and had to be picked up. Runs... but all else seemed fine and doc at her appt that evening told us to maybe watch for a milk allergy. So that was at her one year "well-baby" visit. She weighed in at 21 pounds 9 ounces. (60th percentile) And is 28.25 inches tall (between 25th and 30th percentile). Then she got 6 shots. 2 in each thigh, and one in each arm. Poor baby didn't like that.
Saturday was the start of "moving day". Just D and I, with the grandma's around to help pack a bit and watch babies. It's amazing the stuff you find when you actually can move the couch. So many long lost stuff.
Sydney must have thought it was Christmas when D lifted the couch. Went running under to retrieve this and that. While I was ripping it all out of her hands to wash the layers of dust off the stuff.

we also found..... DORA! Dora was Sydney's favorite as a little baby (like 6mo). She'd just chew and chew on her. Dora is in a submarine and is a part of a bath book. We'd always wondered where Dora had disappeared to. (oh, and under Dora, the duck to her wood puzzle that has been missing FOR-EVER)
Saturday, Annabelle had runs again... this time we thought that maybe it could be a reaction to her shots. It was only in the morning. She still seemed fine.
Sunday morning, since we had no furniture at all downstairs in the condo... I had to make due with what I had on hand for Sydney's breakfast. It's a Carseat box "table" with a pillow-pet chair. Hey, it worked great! Better than a toddler trying to hold her bowl and eat. I'm a genius!

Sunday is also when Annabelle started throwing up all solid food. Not fun. Poor sweetie.
D had Monday off, and declared to me that Annabelle just didn't look good and we should take her in. I called for an appointment, and he took her. Just a stomach bug that needs to run it's course. No relation to her shots.
By Tuesday she was starting to refuse foods and having some dry diapers at daycare. Wednesday, daycare called me before lunch and said she just was really not doing well. We got her in to an appt in the afternoon. She hadn't eaten, she had like 5 dry diapers in a row. She wouldn't drink.
At the appt, she sorta stumped the nurse practioner lady. She "looked" fine. Good skin, moist mouth. But the refusal of bottles and the dry diaps were a cause for concern. NP enlisted the help of a doctor who came in and gave her a good looking over. He decided that "this baby isn't in any danger" to go home. But if we really felt we needed to go to urgent care, we'd just have to start from scratch with a new doc who would come to his/her own conclusion - possibly the same conclusion. I stressed that I was most concerned that we couldn't get fluid into her. We discussed options and ended up doing a "fluid challenge" in the office. Basically, they gave us a med syringe and we just started pumping pedialyte/water into her. She "drank" 100ml's within a few minutes. After the first couple she was opening her mouth and leaning toward the syringe. Girl was thirsty!
After that, drinking wasn't and issue any longer. And she was back to having normal wet diapers. Eating food took a while longer to come back... but as of yesterday (about a full week) she's eating normally again. For a few days she only wanted puffs, cheerios, or crackers.
Here is Sicky McSickerbelle at the doctor office last Wednesday (leap day).
