Playdate/Brunch + Trains

There is a family at our church who we've always sat near (same seats every week).  They have 2 boys.   Matty is 15 months older than Sydney, and Anthony is 3 months older than Annabelle.   They are adorable.

Over time it has came to pass that we all now sit in the same pew at Church with Matty and Sydney usually in the middle together sharing crackers and books to look at.

On the last Sunday of September (super HOT by the way), we all met at Ruby's for breakfast after church.   Ruby's is right along the train tracks/platform.  In fact, they have a gate from their patio dining area that opens onto the platfom.    We chose the patio, and everytime a train came by, the kiddos (and one or more of us parents) ran out there to wave at and watch.

Annabelle, Anthony, Matty, and Sydney

love the similar expressions on Annabelle and Anthony here

Sydney waves at a Metrolink train

more waving

Poor Annabelle was stuck at the table in her high chair

Sydney really did not want to look at me.   The Metro is much more interesting

there's another train a'comin' down yonder.
(that shadow on the ground is the fence from the dining patio we were seated at)

Finally a big cargo/freight type train!  Something other than yet another Metro.

and for the record.. the other parents apparently go there frequently and said they normally do not get that many trains over the course of one breakfast.   I think we had like 6 go by in the time we were there.

BEACH DAY 09/18/2012

Mommy got smart and brought their little chairs.
They are the perfect size.  And easy to carry.

more interested in the grand ol' Pacific than they are in smiling for mommy.

Annabelle gives me a "look"

Seriously had the beach to ourselves... just a few feet from the water (which was at the peak of high tide when we arrived)

Another one of Annabelle's "looks"

someone loves the beach

love

she's getting to be such a big girl

Annabelle, you crack me up!

Sydney has such great hair

eating fresh strawberries

(see, beach to ourselves)
There goes Bug, chasing the seagulls

you drop one or two little goldfish crackers, and you make new frinds like this guy.   I think of him as a "Vinny".   He looks like he'd be squaking at you in a New Jersey accent.

okay, there are a few other people on the beach
but overall it was perfect in terms of crowd (none), parking (plenty), and weather (high 70s?)

over it.

Fishy cracker hunters

Sydney's "rocketship" slowly flew by.

these are the 3 I made Canvas's of, with the middle being a larger size.
they came out soooooo beautifully!

hanging in the front yard

09/07/2012
It was hat-day at daycare, and they were in pretty good moods after getting home so I busted out the camera.

trying to put on her hat

Annabelle's camera pose.   Whenever she first sees a camera she seems to think that means you throw your head back.   I think it's my fault from all the times I was trying to get her to look.  "Annabelle, look up!   UP.  Up here!"    So now she looks way up.

awwwwww

Sydney had gone inside to use the potty, so Annabelle got a few candids all her own.
