one year ago vs. today

Not much new to report. Still not walking by herself - but she's getting alot more steady when walking holding only one hand.

She's super close to standing by herself. She can do it for a couple seconds, but then I think it scares her some and she bends at the waist, drops and knees and lets herself down gently. Very controlled.

No new teeth yet.

Table foods are still hit and miss. Some days she'll eat great. Some days she'll just throw it all on the floor.

Beach Birthday Party = Choatic

I can't really say Bug's bday party went off without a hitch, cuz well... the beach was crazy crowded and there were lots of issues with finding parking for the peeps who were running late.(although.... there was still parking available at 10am)

Being that everything was so sandy, I didn't take my camera out for too long, so there aren't too many pics. And the blue shade of the ez-ups didn't make for great coloring either.

I didn't get any pics of Buggy standing in her tutu that I made. This is the only pic I have where you can sort-of see it. (Bug with her "auntie" Dorina):

Her cupcakes that Nana and I made (took me 2 hours to decorate all those little guys):

Her cake that her Grandma Sally made. We added on the sugar ladybugs that I had ordered.

Sydney and her Auntie Stephanie: (loved her curl on top of her head that day)

The crowd:

more crowd the other direction:

Bug looking a little like Mary Lou Retton - short and stocky:

Super cute in her ladybug bathing suit:

Our little piece of paradise for the day. Nice that we got a great spot right next to the walkway for easier accessibility for some of our less mobile guests:

All the grandparents pose with Buggy:

Also, I had gone into this knowing that last time we were at the beach, Bug had no interest in sand. I was confident that she would nicely play on a blanket in the shade. Wrong. She suddenly was all into the sand. She was quite the filthy child at the end of the day.
Next year? Dinner at the Olive Garden and I'll call that fine. LOL!

:( and some random pics

Sydney got bit by another child at daycare.
Ouch! My poor baby. She was extra fussy that night. I bet it was hurting.

Little Miss Bug "walking" around the kitchen:

Playing with a Panda toy at daycare:
Pounding Mr.Panda's head on the ground, and looking quite proud of herself:

4th of July

4th of July was very nice this year. As always, we attended the gathering at the Aken's (not 100% sure of the spelling of their name).

Here are some pics from the day:

Denise holding Patriotic Buggy. I have other cuter pics, but they have Aviana (the other baby at the party) in them, and don't want to post without having permission to do so.

Buggy's first dip in a pool
It was really hard to get good color on these as they were taken in the late late afternoon in the shade. They were super dark and super blue. Tried warming them up some. Not sure I succeeded.

(don't worry, her daddy was super close by)

she absolutely loved splashing. Soaked herself.

Swimming out in the sunny/deep end of the pool with daddy:

ah, the evil-eye starts young:

After the pool, Grandma Sally carried her around a bit while she dried off:

A wet and squinty Bug
^and you can see she's chunking up in the face/chin again.
In other news, she's walking much more confidently with her walking push toy now. And mastering self-feeding table foods.
