GYMNASTICS

Sydney started Gymnastics at Kips in Anaheim Hills on Nov 14th.
She goes Wednesdays from 6-7pm.  She loves it!

These first pics are from that first lesson.   I believe her class is 3-4 year olds.  They are so stinkin cute.
Sydney wants to be friends with the other little blond girl, Riley.   So far, Riley isn't too social.   I did chat with the mom and found out Riley is 3 weeks older than Bug.   Born in late June.   Riley also has infant twin boy-girl siblings.   Busy mom.

marching to their first event (which was the beam and I don't have any good pics of to share).

2nd event was the bars

teacher was trying to get her to somersault forward over/around the bar and land on the mat below.   Bug still too scared.

Some balance beam action  - walking sideways.
They also do backward, hopping and crawling.

THANKSGIVING IN TUCSON - 2012

We spent Thanksgiving 2012 with Family out in Tucson, AZ at Aunt Felicia and Uncle Jim's house.

We drove over (11 hours - gah!) on Tuesday, and drove back on Saturday.    Pretty much the best possible times to drive on a holiday travel week.    Traffic was not bad or an issue (except on Tuesday when we hit Phoenix at the height of the 5-6pm rush hour).

I believe the weather was in the upper 70s, maybe low 80 while we were there.

too many cacti to fall into - pick me up!

here's Syd complaining about the "too bright" sun

I put this one on a Christmas tree ornament of us this year with the words THANKSGIVING - 2012 on it.

Shadow is so happy to have her raft back from Sydney

naptime... when I wake up, my new cousin will be here!

Meeting her cousin, Cole.

(oh, and here is where Syd got up from her nap and put on Annabelle's 18mo size pants.   They are capri pants on her, but fit at the waist)

(she found a dog toy)

Crappy cell phone pic, but here is uncle Jim tortuing poor Shadow.
She actually stayed still and allowed herself to be pulled around for a second

Annabelle looks out the front door

not sure why I did that to her hair for a trip to the Good Egg and Horse Stables.  LOL

bringing our kids table from Syd and Belle's playroom was genius and perfect. (Nana's idea)

DISCLAIMER:  THE FOLLOWING ARE ALL CRAPPY CELL PICS - THE DSLR WAS PACKED AWAY IN THE CAR ALREADY

Hugs goodbye.

TREE LIGHTING @ SOUTH COAST PLAZA

Every year they put up a giant (well, it was 90ft) Christmas tree  outside the doors to my work, in the plaza between my work bldg and the South Coast Westin (it arrives in October).   This year I had Dana bring down the Littles to see the tree lighting ceremony.

My coworker said that the previous year there were still plenty of seats at 6pm (starts at 6:30).   So I had Dana meet me then and we discovered it was packed and standing room only.    We found a spot pretty close to the front, but leaning against the wall of my building.   (Remind me next year to just go down and sit holding our seats at like 4:30 with a good book).    Before the program, Sydney and Annabelle got to meet Rudolph.    Syd was giddy.

There was a performance program by the kids at the Orange County High School for the Arts ("of the Arts"?  or whatever they are called).   Started with Carolers, then an upbeat singing/dancing of Christmas songs by kids dresses like an Old Navy commercial.  LOL.   Overall though, it was a lovely program - but longer than I expected.    Apparently there were cookies and hot cocoa somewhere, but I never found that in the crowd

Sydney was SOOOO excited to "meet" Rudolph!

everyone in attendance was given a new super nice, really fluffy Santa hat
