As we were preparing to leave, I set two blankets in the stroller to take with us, but those got moved when the stroller was folded and put in the trunk - and I didn't get notified that we didn't have the blankets until I asked as we were driving and a ways away from home. Also, we forgot to put Annabelle's hoodie on before putting her in the carseat - so Annabelle just had a longsleeve onesie (with fleecy pants), but no jacket and no blanket. Awesome.
Once we parked, we got Annabelle in the stroller and tucked the 2 cotton blankets we had on hand around her as tight as we could. Thankfully, I had grabbed a hat for her with a strap under the chin (she's notorious for instantly pulling off any hat).
I don't mind cold much.
So on to the lights. These are mostly pics that struck me in some way or another (mostly, I love the unusual stuff). There was a lot of "usual" lights and light displays too - I just didn't take pics of everything.
When in doubt, stick a santa hat on your lawn decor:
Must find me a Christmas flamingo. Bet they have a lot of these in Florida:
This sad little puppy wasn't turned on and just looked so pathetic. I love him:
(sidenote to Annabelle: you are so stinking cute!)
2 of Sydney's favorites: Mickey and Rudolph
a big hit with us adults: Passed out Joseph at the nativity (he's had one too many, someone cut this guy off):
closer up:
pretty polar bear (or is it some sort of rat?):
Annabelle still hanging in. At some point Bug got too warm and took of mine and her jackets (cruising around in just cotton longsleeves when even I was getting chilly). So Annabelle inheritied Bug's fleecy jacket, and I convinced Bug to continue using my jacket as a blanket (after about 20mins that is)
A very Clark Griswold christmas: Lights covering everything:
Bumper Car Snowman:
Bumper Car Santa:
another view of the house with lights everywhere:
this little guy was almost crystal-like. Quite pretty in person
Christmas cows:
This is Sydney in that small window of time when she ditched all forms of warmth. Notice Annabelle now has Bug's polka dot fleece hoodie draped around her. For what it's worth, there aren't many pics of Sydney from the first half of the evening because she was in a grouchy mood and pics I did take totally show it. She finally got into the spirit.
Can't tell if this is a Southwest Christmas? Or tropical christmas. Heck, I guess it's just a California Christmas:
When pigs fly. At this house, this was the only decoration hanging high in a tree. There was a big banner-type sign across the front of the house that said "Have a Maui Christmas". Wonder if they went to Hawaii for the holidays? And if so, way to advertise it to the thousands checking out the lights each weekend. Way to go!
Love the Christmas dinosaur.
