ZOO DAY 01/15/11

Yes, I dressed her in the same outfit she wore on Wednesday at the daycare thing. It just seemed so nice and comfy, and easy access for diaper changes (easier than full pants that is). We didn't know it would be so WARM in San Diego in January. Her baby legs were off within the first hour there and by 10:30am, she'd been changed out of the long sleeve onesie to a short sleeve one I had in her bag.
The first awesome pic of the day: I call this one "Squirmy Bug in her stroller"

Sleeping Koala:

Bug REALLY liked these two. A pair of friends. A real Austrailian Shepherd (huge by the way) and a cheetah. Buggy "woo-woo"ed and "Mow"ed really loudly at them.
Then the camera was put away for about 4 hours.
Busted it back out for the Pandas! The first pen had the male. He was sitting front and center, reclining on a big rock, and chowing his late lunch.

The 2nd pen had the female and baby. They were both sleeping up in the tree at first, but while we were there, the baby got up to scratch it's ear. So cute!

A moment waiting off to the side (for our friends to finish their run through the panda line). A sweet moment between Buggy and her Daddy:

By the way, this was about 3:15pm. She'd had NO nap yet at this point. Well, she may have slept some on the drive down between 8 and 9am, but still.... Her schedule for naps/food were completely out of whack while at the zoo. She did remarkably well. So much our friends we were with commented on it several times in the afternoon. (she always does well though, so not much of a surprise to us). But even though she stays sweet and doesn't get too cranky, you could tell she was starting to fight off being tired. We'd get an occasional moment of thumb sucking/hair fingering. Which is her comforting thing.

We spent a lot of time (with what seemed like the rest of the world - so crowded) watching the Hippos. Sorry for the flash glare on the glass. It was getting toward dusk.

and FINALLY... at 4:30pm:

I love when she's so zonked that her thumb half falls out of her mouth.

Turns out this was just a 20 min. cat-nap. She was awake by the time we got to the gorillas. Stayed awake until we got on the road for the drive home around 5:45pm. Got home at 7:10pm and Bug went straight to bed (offered her some dinner which she refused, so beddy-bye time it was)
