Annabelle's "would-be" birthday cake

Back in August there was a Groupon for a bakery local to us. $15 for either a dozen cupcakes, or one of their signature 8 inch cakes (a $35 value) It had an expiration date of mid-Feb. At the time I thought "Cool. I'll get this and use to toward Annabelle's birthday" . Thinking we could do her bday party the weekend before her actual birthday and the goodies would still be good.

Well, now with the house and moving fiasco taking up the 2nd half of this month, we had to pick up the cake and NOT use it for her bday (which I'm looking at having her party on 03/03 - right around her original due date).

So we enjoyed some cake last night. I had the choice of white, chocolate, or marble cake. Since I like white and D likes chocolate, I decided on "marble". Choices of white choc or chocolate curls around the outside. Went with 50/50. Also opted for the fresh berries inside too.

Annabelle was allowed a few tastes of the strawberry whipped cream filling. She LOVED it and whined and whined to be put back on my lap for more.
