Back at the end of April I got some pretty good shots one day of Syd and Belle in their Bee clothes. Then thought... I should do a "bee" theme for Sydney's birthday and I can use one of these pics for the invite. I would have done my usual shutterfly-type invite, but decided to pinch pennies a bit more this year and made my own (on work time, of course). I think they came out cute enough.

| Annabelle in her hand-me-down bee dress |

| sigh, the cake. I had grand plans for a cake with super fancy fondant and decorations. Plan failed when on my day off the previous day, the power went out for over 3 hours. I went into "let me finally unpack some of these boxes since we've lived here for 4 months"mode and decided I could do the cake and all side munchies the next morning before a 10am party. HA! Ended up slapping some regular buttercream frosting (with yellow food coloring) on that puppy and adding some sugar bees. |

| the spread. Cake, veggie tray, ranch dip, black bean/corn salad, 5 layer dip, and some hot dogs on the grill, Also had a big bowl of strawberries, cherries, and pineapple. I think the food turned out well, but being relatively budget friendly |

| Syd eats cake |
 |
| Poor Annabelle. I am super ghetto and gave her the cake top remnants that I had cut off to make the cake flatter before frosting. LOL. She like it pretty well. She doesn't need the added sugar in the frosting |

| I love this view with the hot pink bougainvillea |
A few pics of just some of the presents:

 |
| Merida doll from Alan, Cindy, and Ashley. Merida has already been to church with us. I think she'll be joining us a lot of places in the near future. |
 |
| Alan, Cindy, and Ashley also brought a little gift for Annabelle too. You know, since she was deprived of a 1st bday by her mean old parents. |
After the party cleared out... last people left around 3pm.... and we had clean up underway, the girls were so beyond hyped up. My goodness, the spazzing and screaming and shrieking. I finally had to find a moment alone upstairs and leave daddy with the screaming 2 of them around 6pm. Soon after, it got eerily quiet downstairs. Here is what I came down to around 6:30pm
They were OUT! I carried Syd up to bed around 8pm and just got her into a pull-up and let her stay in her shorts and tee shirt. Merida slept with Sydney all night long.
