TREE LIGHTING @ SOUTH COAST PLAZA

Every year they put up a giant (well, it was 90ft) Christmas tree  outside the doors to my work, in the plaza between my work bldg and the South Coast Westin (it arrives in October).   This year I had Dana bring down the Littles to see the tree lighting ceremony.

My coworker said that the previous year there were still plenty of seats at 6pm (starts at 6:30).   So I had Dana meet me then and we discovered it was packed and standing room only.    We found a spot pretty close to the front, but leaning against the wall of my building.   (Remind me next year to just go down and sit holding our seats at like 4:30 with a good book).    Before the program, Sydney and Annabelle got to meet Rudolph.    Syd was giddy.

There was a performance program by the kids at the Orange County High School for the Arts ("of the Arts"?  or whatever they are called).   Started with Carolers, then an upbeat singing/dancing of Christmas songs by kids dresses like an Old Navy commercial.  LOL.   Overall though, it was a lovely program - but longer than I expected.    Apparently there were cookies and hot cocoa somewhere, but I never found that in the crowd
