sometime around week 5-ish

so these are going to be somewhat out of chronological date order, but they're close.

FIRST SMILE! well actually the first one I was able to catch with the camera. I think she was really pooping, but a smile is a smile!

Trying out the Moby. It's pretty comfy once I get her in it. I just seem to have a hard time getting her in when I am by myself.

My mom comes to visit usually at least once a week - most often on Wednesdays. Here are a couple pics of "Nana" with the babe.

Auntie Stephanie came to visit after her 2 day birthday binge at Disneyland. Here she is with our little miss complete with Minnie Mouse ears.

Ahhhhhhh... the Rainforest Floor mat. Sydney LOVES it. So does the cat. He likes when she swings her arms, hitting the hanging mirror - then he chases the light reflections that bounces back and forth on the floor. Good Times. Dumb cat (or smart cat? Smart enough to know to wait for that when the mat is out. Hmmm....)

Wow. Look at me lift my head! Seriously she starting holding it up at 3 weeks. At 5 weeks she could hold it up for over a full minute. Such a strong baby!

My mom and Dad stopped by on Aug. 25th (I think that's right), on their way to Angel Stadium. They were going to watch the annual matchup between the Angels (mom's a fan) and the Tigers (dad's a fan). Tigers won. (But the Angels won the next day). Sydney looks terrified of my dad.

Here is a bit of our nighttime fun. After her last feeding of the night (which I usually do sitting on the daybed in the nursery)... I call out to Dana "Daddy, come burp me". It's become Dana's job to do the nighttime burping (at least while he's still awake). Sydney makes the funniest faces during her burping.

Then she looks at Dana as if to say "What the heck, dad".

he's so good with her.

making the same face:

After burping, daddy then wraps her into her "burrito baby" mode and puts her to bed for the night

how she sleeps:

Here are just some cutie-patootie pics. I think these are actually around 6 weeks old:

getting better at smiling for the camera!
