On Saturday before Mother's Day, we ventured the 90 miles down to the Wild Animal Park. Well, technically it's now called the San Diego Safari Park - whatever. So much gear to schlep when taking 2 littles out for the day. Fun times. Of course we got a way later start than we planned on...how does that happen? Ugh.
Bug didn't seem to mind being relegated to the rumble seat attachment of the stroller - with the foot of the main seat all in her face. In fact here's a pic soon after arriving of her trying to climb into it by herself:
Bug was tickled pink seeing the carousel made up of zoo animals. Here was her reaction followed by squealing giggles:
She seems super excited to be at the Safari Park!
And Miss Annabelle takes it all in her usual manner - cool and collected:
Notice both Bug and Belle are wearing Giraffe outfits. Funny story about Belle's giraffe outfit. It's a hand-me-down from Bug and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME Buggy wore it as an infant she had a major poopy blowout. Poor "Little Friend" outfit was cursed and doomed. Well, Belle's never worn it, so she has no history with it... plus the fact that a blowout on Belle is much rarer than it was with Bug - so I went for it. Yeah, she survived the day just fine - but not the car ride home... 1st Belle blowout in a LONG time. Damn cursed outfit!

Bug loved the swinging monkeys!

Found the little run-around playground area. Buggy wasn't too sure about the lion:
But finally got brave and ventured closer with the help of her daddy:
riding in a Jeep:
Buggy being designated driver to a motley crew of new friends:
And Annabelle is still cool and collected at Lunchtime - after a screaming fit, then a feeding from mommy.
Buggy never tires of pointing out her sister's nose (although this angle looks like Belle is getting poked in the eye:
Viewing animals out yonder:
and peeking back to smile at mommy:
we let Bug run wild in an open grassy area. Time to stretch her legs a bit. She got many comments at this time on how adorable she was and lots of love for her Giraffe dress and high-tops:
