Well, we officially started Daycare on Tuesday. I didn't get any sleep the night before - my mind just kept going over everything I needed to do and have prepped that next morning (bottles, bag, lunch, computer, pump, Buggy etc... You should see me walking out the door!).
We are always the first baby in the infant room - I think the next baby comes about an hour later. And we are frequently the first child in all of daycare. Gotta love bright and early 6:30am drop off times! So since she is the first to arrive she gets the entire room to herself and any toy she wants.
Everyday, they send home a sheet with her "goings on" recorded - diaper changes, times she ate and how much, naps - when and how long, demeanor, and special notes. "Demeanor" is listed as 4 check boxes. The options are: Cheerful, Content, Tired, and Sensitive. Tuesday and THursday, Buggy got "Content". But on Wednesday she got both "Cheerful and Content"
Also, I am that annoying mom that calls at least once a day to see how she's doing (I swear this is a first week thing only - I hope). Yesterday they tell me that she was playing with "Shelby's foot". LOL! Bug is doing wonderfully at taking a bottle FINALLY. We'd been trying with ZERO success since October to get her to take a bottle. The first day, her progress report sheet showed that she refused it twice (had cereal instead), but that she took 2.5 ounces that day at one point. By her 3rd day (yesterday), she was downing 2 full bottles of 4 oz each, and getting 4 more ounces in cereal during the day. Such a good Bug. No more refusals! Yesterday her sheet said they read "Itsy Bitsy Spider" with her. :)
Yesterday morning when I dropped her off I took some pics:
They tell me she's still getting used to the noise the other babies make (such as screeches and whatnot) so her naps have been short little under 30 min catnaps, but improving. There are 6 babies total in this daycare at the moment (and 2 teachers). By February, 3 or 4 of them are moving up to the toddler room when they turn one.
OMG Stacie this story is so sweet it put me in tears. Sounds like you have a great day care for her and she seems to like it a lot too!
