An afternoon in Canyon Country

Sunday was Buggy's first trek out to visit family (Susie, on the Rock side) out in Canyon Country. Really it's only about 60+ miles away, but driving up the 5 freeway in post holiday traffic was awful. Thankfully the ILs drove in their Excursion. If I have to sit in bumper to bumper traffic with the thought that at any instant some moron could hit you - then I definitely feel better in a huge vehicle. I would have been so stressed in my Accord.

I was excited to go to Susie's so that Bug could meet her first doggies! Susie has 6 Peke's. They look like little walking rugs or slippers to me. They are so funny. So in honor of the occassion, I dressed Bug in her Gymboree "doggy" sweater and socks. With coordinating skirt and hat. I love it. Dana said she looked like she was wearing an "old lady sweater". Buggy got many many comments on how cute she, and her outfit were!

Susie and Bob have an awesome pool (and backyard in general). Dana, Buggy and I spent sometime poolside to get some pics.

I also made Denise and Delayne come outside to get a pic of all the Rock granddaughters together. (with Denise away at college, these opportunities only happen a couple times a year)

Turns out the doggies were all couped up on their "playpen". However, as the party dwindled down some as it got dark out - she let them out in the backyard. Susie held one so that Buggy could pet it. So cute. However, it was so dark and the doggies were mostly dark, I didn't get very decent pics.
